Basic Graceland Tour
See Memphis’ tour of Graceland takes you inside Elvis’ front door right to the living room where you’ll see the stained glass peacocks, the seven-foot couch and the piano that he loved to play. You’ll see the kitchen where the cook made those peanut butter & banana sandwiches, his parents’ bedroom and a peek inside Gladys Presley’s closet. Downstairs you’ll see where Elvis & his friends relaxed around the TV or the pool table; then you’ll go through the famous “Jungle Room” where he actually recorded one of his last albums! You’ll see a tape of an interview just after he left the army where he talks about a girl he met in Germany (Priscilla Beaulieu) and then view the world’s largest collection of gold and platinum albums. There are many other momentos of his historic career in the Trophy Room and you’ll have time to linger there awhile. Then you’ll continue to the racquetball court and see the piano Elvis played just before he died along with NARAS’ and RCA’s salute to Elvis. The last stop will be Meditation Gardens where Elvis is buried along with other family members. You’ll have time to shop for souvenirs and see a short film before returning to your hotel.
